| 21 Ada Nada Langhe Nebbiolo Serena Medium concentrated carmine red in appearance. Intriguing rose, spice and ripe fruit aromas exude from the glass. Fresh and well-structured with silky tannins in a
finely balanced and elegant context.(available: 11) | 27.99 |
| 18 Allegrini Amarone 94pts from Wine Spectator
The result of the Allegrini family’s expertise, a true classic of the appellation, this red wine embraces tradition, territory and the know-how of country ways. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are left to air dry at least until December and are checked daily to ensure perfectly healthy grapes. Lengthy refining and ageing finally yields a red wine that has become emblematic of Italian oenology, alongside Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino. It has imposing structure and depth, as much in its aromas of mature fruit and spices, as on the palate, where the alcohol is sustained by the right degree of acidity and refined tannins.(available: 6) | 79.99 |
| 10 Andrea Oberto Albarella Barolo (available: 1) | 84.99 |
| 17 Andrea Oberto Barolo 93pts from James Suckling
Intense, still-bright garnet-red in colous. Fruit aromas underscored by a lively acidity integrated with notes of tar, tanned leather, and graphite evolving with the passing of time. Complex in mouth, with polished tannins, fresh fruit and firm structure in perfect balance. Longlingering finish(available: 4) | 46.99 |
| 19 Antinori Guado Al Tasso (available: 3) | 129.99 |
| 19 Antinori Tignanello Toscana 96 points Robert Parker
The Marchesi Antinori 2019 Tignanello was born in a classic growing season that saw some cooling summer rains and relatively stress-free conditions. This is an elegant and extremely polished wine made with mostly Sangiovese and smaller parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Here too, the small blending element of Cabernet Franc has been slowly increasing in recent years. The 2019 vintage was born with a good amount of power and tannic structure, and maceration times were slightly reduced as a result. This less extractive approach shapes a polished and elegant wine with plenty of bright berry fruit, cherry, dried mint, blue flower, blood orange and rusty earth. The palate is more compact and streamlined. It shows beautiful grace.(available: 3) | 149.99 |
| 19 Avignonesi Desiderio Merlot 93pts from James Suckling
Explosive olfactory impact. The wide aromatic bouquet ranges from cherry and plum jam to notes of black tea, rhubarb, and graphite, and final touches of cardamom. The entrance is bursting. On the palate it is enveloping and deep, accompanied by a silky and linear tannin typical of the structure of Tuscan Merlot. Tastefully juicy and in symbiosis with the olfactory notes, it gives notes of coconut and black pepper in the aftertaste.(available: 6) | 52.99 |
| 20 Azelia Langhe Nebbiolo The true Nebbiolo, in purity. From it the brilliant and lively color. Violet and floral aromas, juicy, with refreshing touches of cherry, strawberry and currant. The exclusive aging in steel, strongly wanted, permits, more than ever, the performance of the variety characters. Raspberry in primis. Zesty acidity, fully attractive.(available: 5) | 24.99 |
| 15 Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 94pts from James Suckling
The Castello Banfi 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is fragrant and bright. Aromas of wild cherry, blackberry and plum emerge from the glass with spice, tar and licorice following close in tow. The unified front created by those aromas adds to the overall intensity and purity of the wine. The wine is silky and glossy with a mid-weight style that wraps closely over the palate. This Brunello is fermented in both steel and oak. About 80% of the total volume ages in 60- or 90-hectoliter botte made with French oak, and 20% is aged in new barrique. The wine was bottled in April 2019 and hit the market in January 2020. Some 580,000 bottles were made. You can drink this accessible wine straight out of the gate or wait to age it longer.(available: 4) | 38.99 |
| 08 Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 91 Wine Enthusiast
Aromas of leather, menthol, dried fruit, exotic spice and a balsamic note emerge on this full-bodied wine. On the firmly structured palate, a tannic backbone supports dried black cherry, raisin, licorice and tobacco.(available: 3) | 129.99 |
| 17 Brovia 'Brea Vigna Ca' Vigna (available: 3) | 104.99 |
| 16 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova There is more depth to the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova, with light smoky earth, black cherry, licorice, and black pepper. It is polished with fresh crunchy fruit yet retains a good amount of concentration, with notes of black raspberry, turned fresh soil, and graphite. Mouthwatering, with salinity, fresh acidity, and great length, it has fine tannins and warming spice on the finish. Best after 2024.
96pts from Jeb Dunnuck(available: 6) | 129.99 |
| 17 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino White Label The Casanova di Neri 2017 Brunello di Montalcino delivers unexpected grace and a floral profile that is not common to find in this scorching-hot and dry vintage. In faithful Casanova di Neri fashion, the wine is bold and dark in appearance, and although the bouquet is dominated by purple and black fruits, there is a brief interlude of fresh garden rose or lilac. That little moment changes up the momentum of this wine in a most positive way by allowing for a harmony of low tones and high tones that are well matched here. The wine is robust, structured and velvety to the palate, but ultimately this expression is far more delicate than I would have ever expected for a 2017 Brunello. This is a nice surprise.
94pts from Robert Parker(available: 11) | 78.99 |
| 15 Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino (available: 4) | 68.99 |
| 12 Castello di Bolgheri Bolgheri Superiore The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore is a generous and complete wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This is the best vintage produced so far in my estimation. The wine is rich and fruit-forward with lovely layers of blackberry, dried cherry and spice. It offers power and elegance in the mouth, with long fruit flavors on the finish.(available: 2) | 129.99 |
| 19 Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva 94pts from Jeb Dunnuck
The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva is 90% Sangiovese and the rest Canaiolo and Colorino, raised only in used barrique and large cask. It pours a pure ruby and has floral and herbal aromas of cherry candy, black raspberry, forest herbs, tomato leaf, and dried roses. It is medium to full bodied, with good concentration, fine tannins, and a long, clean finish, and it is savory with dried herbs, oregano, dried cherry, salty earth, and an angular structure.(available: 7) | 36.99 |
| 16 Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino 95pts from Jeb Dunnuck
The 2016 Col d’Orcia Brunello offers notes of pine resin, black cherry, and dried strawberry aromatics. The palate is concentrated and compact, with dried tomato leaf bitterness and tobacco. The structure is not shy, with a rich core of fruit, bold tannin upfront and just as much acidity to match. This is a bold wine for the 2016 vintage, packed with sun-kissed warmth.(available: 2) | 53.99 |
| 17 Ettore Germano Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba Young and powerfully composed, this Barolo shows aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry, pomegranate, rose, violet and licorice. The wine is elegant, precise and clear in the mouth.(available: 5) | 52.99 |
| 14 Ettore Germano Lazzorito Riserva Barolo (available: 5) | 119.99 |
| 16 Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino 95pts from Wine Spectator
This red is pure and supple, evoking cherry, blackberry, licorice, earth and spice flavors, delivering almost seamless harmony at this early stage, with refined tannins that are very well-integrated. Shows fine length, courtesy of the vibrant acidity. Best from 2023 through 2043.(available: 4) | 76.99 |
| 16 Francesco Rinaldi and Figli Barolo Cannubi 97pts from Wine Enthusiast
This drop-dead gorgeous wine opens with enticing aromas of rose petal, small red berry, new leather and pipe tobacco. Delicious and smooth, the elegant palate delivers juicy red cherry, spiced cranberry, licorice and cake spice alongside taut, polished tannins. It's well balanced and vibrant, with bright acidity. Drink 2024–2036(available: 7) | 76.99 |
| 18 Frescobaldi CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino 95pts from James Suckling
The 2018 CastelGiocondo is an intense shade of ruby red. Always set apart by its elegance, this characteristic is more marked than ever in this vintage. The fruity notes, the first to hit your olfactory receptors, are dominated by blueberry and blackberry, flanked by blackcurrant and other berries. They are followed by floral hints of violet and dog rose, which are always found in the bouquets of the best Brunello di Montalcino. Next on the nose are clear spicy notes of black pepper and cardamom, chased by a pleasant aroma of licorice. On the palate, the tannins are dense but not harsh, accompanied by delicate mineral notes. The consistency between the nose and palate and the long and persistent finish make it particularly balanced.(available: 6) | 78.99 |
| 12 Giacomo Borgogno Barolo (available: 5) | 89.99 |
| 18 Il Borro Polissena Sangiovese (available: 5) | 45.99 |
| 18 Il Borro Toscana (available: 5) | 62.99 |
| 17 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (available: 1) | 78.99 |
| 18 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 94pts from Robert Parker
The Il Poggione 2018 Brunello di Montalcino reveals a dark and savory character with more fruit weight and concentration than you might find in many of its peers. This wine shows a dense center of gravity that is padded with dark cherry, blackberry, toasted spice, mahogany smoked meat and tilled earth. Despite the robust aromas, this Sangiovese is actually quite streamlined and polished in texture. The tannins are soft and veering toward accessibility. This is an ambitious production of 200,000 bottles. The estate's Riserva Vigna Paganelli was not made in 2018, so fruit from that wine went here instead.(available: 6) | 78.99 |
| 18 La Palazetta Flavio Fanti Brunello 92pts from Wine Enthusiast
The nose swings between umami and sweet, with cherries and coconut against balsamic vinegar, mushrooms and brambles. On the palate, sweet notes of cherry, raspberry and fig emerge before an indulgent mocha finish, but sturdy tannins keep the lush fruit in check.(available: 4) | 53.99 |
| 16 La Spia Nebbiolo Valtellina Superiore 92pts from Wine Spectator
Earthy aromas of leather, truffle and ripe dark-skinned fruit mingle with whiffs of violet and baking spice. On the palate, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity support raspberry compote, orange zest and licorice before finishing on a note of dried wild herbs(available: 6) | 45.99 |
| 17 Lamole di Lamole Chianti Classico Gran Selezione (available: 3) | 43.99 |
| 17 Masi Costasera Amarone Classico 94pts from James Suckling
A really fresh and well-balanced Amarone here, with tapenade, ripe but fresh blackberries, chili chocolate and some red berries, too. This is tight and juicy, with a medium-to full-bodied palate and a long, fruity finish. A modern, fresh expression of Amarone that shows immense drinkability, but still pretty serious. Not super-concentrated, but shows restraint and balance.(available: 7) | 69.99 |
| 18 Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (available: 11) | 30.99 |
| 17 Renato Ratti Marcenasco Barolo 96pts from James Suckling
This is so perfumed and beautiful with cherries, strawberries and dried flowers that follow through to a medium to full body with firm, fine tannins and a long, energetic finish. All about length and finesse. Drink in 2024.(available: 6) | 64.99 |
| 17 Renato Ratti Marcenasco Barolo (available: 8) | 64.99 |
| 18 Ruffino Greppone Mazzi Brunello di Montalcino Ruby red with garnet hues. Intense aromas of ripe plums, cassis, and maraschino cherry with notes of incense, cocoa, sweet tobacco, and spicy black pepper. The palate is full-bodied with an elegant and complex structure. The tannins are persistent and pronounced yet rich and smooth. Very well balanced with red fruit, chocolate, and sweet tobacco on the long finish.(available: 6) | 73.99 |
| 12 Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Gran Selezione (available: 8) | 54.99 |
| 19 Sassicaia Bolgheri Sassicaia 100 Points Decanter
Sassicaia 2019 spent 25 months in oak (one-third new). ‘We are going longer in oak in the past few years,’ said Carlo Paoli, managing director of Tenuta San Guido. Quite pale in the glass, the nose is extremely graceful and intense with a lavender note enhanced by restrained bramble fruits, fermented citrus peel, an intense violet aroma and graphite minerality in depth. The attack is soft and full, the flavor savoury and cedary through to the finish, with integrated velvety tannins and lifted acidity. A perfectly woven structure is bound with signature freshness and fruit vibrancy, making this one for the long haul.(available: 5) | 253.99 |
| 06 Tenimenti d'Alessandro Migliara Syrah 98pts from Wine Spectator
Black in color, with amazing aromas of blackberry, aniseed, black pepper, and minerals. Full-bodied, with braised meat, superpolished tannins and an ultralong finish. This is the first release of a single-vineyard Syrah made by Piedmont's Luca Currado (Vietti) and Christine Vernay (Domaine Georges Vernay/Condrieu).(available: 3) | 69.99 |
| 18 Tenuta di Arceno Chianti Classico Riserva (available: 6) | 40.99 |
| 14 Tenuta Sette Ponti Toscana Oreno 94pts from James Suckling
Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with hints of minerals. Full body, very fine tannins with orange peel and currant character. Chewy yet polished tannins. Better in 2018 but already delicious. Impressive for the difficult 2014 vintage.(available: 5) | 99.99 |
| 19 Tenuta Tignanello 'Marchese Antinori' Chianti Classico Riserva (available: 6) | 54.99 |

| 17 Vietti Ravera Barolo (available: 6) | 229.99 |
| 21 Vietti Roero Arneis (available: 9) | 26.99 |

| 17 Viviani Amarone della Valpolicella Nose:
Very elegant nose of cherries, wild strawberries, dark chocolate, vanilla, pepper
Taste:
Powerful attack, seductive and fresh, lots of material, high quality tannins, very long and slightly spicy finish(available: 6) | 59.99 |
| 16 Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico (available: 7) | 58.99 |
| 18 Zenato Valpolicella Superiore Ripassa 93pts from Wine Enthusiast
This wine is closely connected to the greatest wine of Valpolicella: Amarone. After pressing the dried grapes from which Amarone is made, the Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm marc of Amarone. A second alcoholic fermentation begins which increases the alcoholic content and the wine becomes richer in color, bouquet.(available: 10) | 27.99 |
