15 d'Arenberg The Custodian Grenache
Pure primary fruit aromas of mulberry, plum, raspberry, rhubarb and blueberry. Pretty but with an added layer of complexity that sits comfortably beneath the aforementioned fruits. The palate is at once both lively and vibrant but with a generosity through mid palate texture. The length of the wine is supported by long chalky tannins. A wine that punches well above its weight. The Custodian can be enjoyed young and fresh but will be enhanced by a few years of careful cellaring rendering the wine more complex in flavor and seamless in structure.(available: 12)

18 d'Arnberg The High Trellis
Screams Cabernet. A deep dark presence in the glass. Blackcurrant, cedar, paprika and leafy notes tell the story of classic McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate follows the nose with harmonious blackcurrant, capsicum, and stewed mulberries. The multitude of fine persistent tannins.(available: 9)

14 Domaine Terlato and Chapoutier Shiraz-Viognier
Intense ruby red color. Aromas of vibrant red plum and fruit wood smoke. On the palate you'll find mouthfilling bright plum and red berry fruits. A full-bodied but smooth red. This spicy Shiraz from the vineyards of Central Victoria is brightened by a boost of Viognier for aroma and balance, as is often practiced in France's most highly regarded appellation of the Northern Rhône Valley, Cote Rotie. The grapes grown in this Australian vineyard were planted on 19th century French rootstocks, another nod to French tradition and influence in this new world wine. This wine is a collaborative effort between two renowned wine families: Chapoutier from the Rhône Valley in France, and the Terlato family of Napa Valley in California.(available: 7)

On the palate, rich spiced plum flavours combine with ripe red berries, followed by a lift of black pepper and anise spice on the mid-palate; a soft and textural mouthfeel showing both depth and elegance, finishing with wonderfully fine, silky tannins. 18 John Duval Entity Shiraz
This is an amalgam of 48% Barossa and 52% Eden Valley parcels, an increased inclusion of Eden Valley material in the mix, which works well in this powerful vintage. The aromas are attractively spicy and complex with blackberries, blueberries and dark raspberries, as well as a dark stony edge and some violet-like florals. Lots here. The palate has a very intense core of such vivid blackberry flavors. Supple and velvety, very long and rich, the core of concentrated fruit here is impressive. Drink or hold. 95pts from James Suckling(available: 2)

93 points, Wine Spectator Juicy, soft and plush flavors of root beer–scented cherry and raspberry are spicy and a touch candied, but very generous, showing off caramel and sandalwood accents. Smooth and supple through the long finish, this is impressive for the complexity and focus. Drink now through 2029.(available: 6)

16 MollyDooker Enchanted Path
A blend of 70% Shiraz (the same wine that goes into Carnival of Love) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Enchanted Path is an awesome blend of fine aromas and rich flavors. Mint and cassis spark the nose, while the full-bodied palate delivers intense chocolate, plum and dark berry notes that finish long and velvety. At this level and above, the oak is secondary to the fruit. 95pts Robert Parker(available: 6)

17 Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon
Garnet red. An aromatic umbrella sheltering all things Cabernet. An immediate ascent of violet, mulberry leaf – laced with star anise, cinnamon, orange zest.Followed by varietal wafts of tomato ketchup, soy, iodine, and oddly, a Chinese spice/stock marinade. Not yet exiting this theme - sweet plum sauce, hoisin and roast duck crackling trepidatiously follows. Immediately more Tuscan than Bordeaux in Cabernet character. Nevertheless, still very (South) Australian.Savory, with a sour cherry grip ... and subtle cherry pip oak influence. Mouth-watering and succulent, yet still linear – tempered by appetizing angular tannins. Darker fruits and green Spanish (stuffed) olive flavors further define the vintage, style. 93pts from James Suckling(available: 3)

20 Torbreck Descendant Shiraz
Gobsmacking. A raptor on nose and palate, locking on without hesitation. An insane iodine and black fruit perfume conjures up images of a dementedly talented parfumier going to work with the rarest musks and scents. The sense of heady Balkan tobacco alone is hypnotic. I have waited a long time for this wine to move from a ‘high-gold’ to perfection, and it happened in one fell swoop in 2020. Shiraz co-fermented with 9% Viognier. 100pts from Decanter(available: 4)

20 Torbreck The Factor Shiraz
The 2020 The Factor is 100% Shiraz and made up of fruit from Gomersal, Krondorf, Marananga and Ebenezer in the Barossa Valley. The wine was matured for 24 months in a combination of new (40%) and seasoned French oak barriques. In the glass, the wine verges on black, and the nose echoes this abyss-like shade. Blackberry, blood plum, black cherry, licorice, campfire embers, cocoa dust, clove, iodine, vanilla pod and red dirt—this is the core of the wine, the beating heart. The tannins, like a skeleton that protects it, are velvety, plush and structural. Like a skeleton, the tannins are entrenched in the fruit, concealed by a skin of flavor. This is a sybaritic, superstar wine that reflects the warm, concentrated, dry, low-yielding vintage from whence it came. This is classic, polished, midnight Torbreck here. 96pts from Robert Parker(available: 6)

21 Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz
Lifted red, black and blue fruits of red cherry, raspberry coulis, blueberry conserve and wild blackberry and blackcurrant. There is a spicy edge showing cardamom, star anise and Chinese five spice. Soft caressing tannins and voluptuous mouthfeel from plump Shiraz berries gives this wine a posture that belies its pedigree. The poise and piquancy of the fruit sitting on top of the structured mouthfeel provides confidence to cellar for 5-10 years.(available: 16)

21 Unico Zelo Esoterico Orange Wine
This is a vibrant snap, crackle and pop wine, from its electric orange color to its bombastic, musky aromas of ginger, florals, honeycomb, candied citrus and peach. It doesn't disappoint in the mouth, with well-placed skins-y tannins and tingly, spicy acidity. There's a botanical garden feel and an orange peel note to end. For those more adventurous drinkers—and for those seeking highly ethical winemakers—this won't disappoint.(available: 9)

Precise structural palate with wonderful length and clarity of fruit flavor. Generous rich red fruits of blackberry and mulberry together with savory nuances of smoked meats and tilled earth pulled together with fine, yet powerful tannins and mouth-watering acidity. A wine of classic McLaren Vale richness of flavor matched beautifully with the powerful structure and length of the variety. Yalumba 30 year tawny port
A bit drier than the 21-year-old version, the NV Fine Aged Tawny 30 Years Old boasts knockout aromas of maple syrup, walnuts, rancio and hints of dried fig, citrus and sherry-like notes. It's amazingly drinkable, not overly sweet and just a terrific effort that will age effortlessly. 96pts from Robert Parker(available: 5)

Full depth in color with a plum red hue. The bouquet leads with violet and lilac floral notes to the tangy counterpoint of seaspray and pepper.
